School Counseling

Vision

The vision of the Manatee Middle School Counseling Department is for all students to engage in positive academic, social, and emotional habits and to build a foundation of healthy behaviors for lifelong learning. Manatee Hurricanes will obtain the skills and the knowledge to excel in a diverse, technology-driven and global economy with the goal of attending a college, university, technical school, or joining the armed forces. Our students will develop a sense of self and community as they embark on a journey of personal success and active citizenship.

Mission

The mission of the Manatee Middle School Counseling Department is to deliver a comprehensive, developmental, and preventative counseling program that addresses the academic, career, and social/emotional development of all students. The School Counseling Team will provide individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance and will work to promote a positive school culture. With the collaborative effort of MMS administrators and staff members, families, and community resources, the school counseling program will prepare all students with the tools to engage in lifelong learning in a global society.
